These teams have been involved in some lower-scoring games recently, but I'm finally anticipating more of a "slug-fest" finally here on Tuesday between Detroit and Cleveland.
The Tigers have lost four straight, including yesterday's series opener by a score of 2-1. Despite that though, Detroit has still seen the total eclipse the posted number in eight of its last 12 after three or more straight losses in a row.
Cleveland has won three straight.
But neither starter instills any confidence, as Detroit hands the ball to Kenta Maeda (1-1, 5.02 ERA), while the home side counters with Logan Allen (3-2, 5.11.)
Look for these two guys to exit early and for the bullpens to get taxed early on.
As a result, I do indeed expect this total to eclipse the posted number sooner, rather than later.
