These two teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, but everything finally points to more of a slug-fest here in the finale of this three-game series in my opinion.
Boston has now lost three straight after yesterday's 3-1 setback. It's seen the total go UNDER in five straight, but that is significant to note here, as the Red Sox have in fact seen the total fly OVER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
Minnesota is the hottest team in MLB arguably with 12 straight wins and it hands the ball to Cooper Criswell (2-1, 1.65 ERA), who looks poised for regression, as these sparkling numbers are unrealistic and unsustainable over the short, mid or long-term in my opinion moving forward.
The home side counters with Joe Ryan (1-1, 3.18), who has been decent, but who I also believe will "get the hook early."
Two really decent starters here in fact, but the overall situation, combined with the above-listed trends makes the OVER the correct call in this series finally here on Sunday in my opinion.
